Drawing in the Community

‘Face It’! - Café Drawing Event, In the comfort of The Riverside Café draw your self portrait on a postcard and have it displayed in the café snug. All ages - young to ancients - care encouraged to join in this fun event. Whether you make a self-study, fantasy or imaginative drawing, we welcome and encourage your creativity. Mirrors, card, drawing tools provided. Oct 6th – 28th.

To celebrate the visual aspects of Pembrokeshire Fish Week Nant y Coy exhibited original prints by printmaker Susan Sands. After gaining her BA in Fine Arts at Reading University she gained experience as a fine book illustrator, and was founder member of the Greenwich Printmakers. More

Courses

Drawing the Self. Drawing on Self portraits for all abilities in various media Tutor: Dr. Carolyn Wilde, Sat, Oct 25th, 10 am - 4:00 pm. Includes Free Illustrated Talk on Saturday Oct 18th at 5:00 - 6:15 pm. £15

Liquid Line. This is a course to enrich and strengthen drawing skills and concepts. For all levels of experience to include courageous beginners. Mon, 13th & Tues, 14th Oct 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. For the two days: £35.

Drawing with Paint. Moving into paint through drawing – exploding colour and line, merging them to create exciting art. A course for experienced students and courageous beginners. Wed, Oct 15th & Thurs, 16th Oct, 10 am - 4:30 pm. For the two days: £35.

So you think you can't draw! This is a course for beginners using a variety of mediums to explore basic drawing principles and approaches to sketching.
Sat, 11th & Sun 12th Oct 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. For the two days: £25 'Step into Space' with Margaret Merritt This series of three workshops can be enjoyed as a series or just as one or more individual workshops. They are all designed for all levels of experience, including adventurous beginners.

Nant y Coy aims to encourage the experiencing of creativity through different media and using different senses. Through observation within the gallery, interaction with artists-in-residence, and individual input and expression through our courses and workshops.

The events programme will appeal to experienced artist and general visitor alike and we provide a chance to appreciate artist’s work and learn new skills in a relaxed atmosphere.

Come along and make a day of it - the woods and meadows at Nant y Coy provide pleasant walks, and finish your visit with a browse around the gift shop and a fresh snack or meal at the Café.
